about how we do what we do? Read on…
Vinyl
At Onsite Signs, we generally use vinyl for the signage we do.
Vinyl is a polymer based adhesive product and there are a few reasons
why we (usually) use vinyl rather than paint:
- There are different vinyls available for almost every
application. For example, you are able to get almost any colour you
want, including some really ace ‘special effect’ vinyls (I highly
recommend the carbon fibre look stuff – it looks better than the real
thing!), sparkly vinyls, glow-in-the-dark vinyls, frosted or etched
glass vinyls, there are ultra-sticky vinyls suitable for low-adhesion
surfaces, there are removable vinyls for temporary jobs, there are
high visibility reflective vinyls, there are transparent vinyls,
there are block-out vinyls for covering up what’s underneath, there
one-way vision vinyls for car windows, there are vinyls for printing
on, there textured vinyls, there are whiteboard vinyls and blackboard
vinyls… I could go on and on and on, but I’m sure you get the
picture!
- In most cases, we use a vinyl that is suitable for long-term,
permanent signage, but did you know that ultimately, it is a
removable product? This means that when you want to sell your machine
or your car, or if you have a logo change, most types of vinyl can be
removed without damage to the paintwork underneath.
- It’s quick and easy. You don’t have to wait for vinyl to dry – we
can apply your signage, and you can take your machine straight out to
work again. There are no messy wet patches of paint to worry about
and no dangerous chemicals.
- If you want to try it, you can order your signs from us and put
them on yourself! – you don’t have to be artistic or know how to mix
paint. However, we feel we should warn you that there is a little bit
of a knack to putting decals on!
